FOREHEAD LIFT
predicting brow elevation after a forehead lift

In a forehead lift, the closer the incision is to the brow the greater the elevation.

It is possible to roughly estimate the amount of improvement of the position of the brow after surgery depending on the position of the incision.

When the incision is immediately above the brow or in the middle of the forehead, the ratio of amount of skin removed to elevation of the brow is 1:1.

When the incision is placed behind the hairline of the scalp (coronal incision) the ratio is 2:1. In other words for each mm of skin removed the brow is elevated 1 mm or half as much.

When the incision is placed along the hairline of the scalp the ratio is 1.5:1.
