hair transplant Should I stop smoking around the time of surgery?

Yes. Smoking delays healing and can cause your skin to die leaving bad scars. I like my patients to stop smoking for two weeks before and after their operation. If you need help to stop, contact the American Lung Association (505/265 0732) or nationally 212/315 8700. If you want more help on the Web try a Yahoo "stop smoking" search.
