Can I drive myself home after surgery?

No. After surgery you will be under the influence of medications. It is dangerous to drive. If you do not have anyone to drive you home your doctor may allow you to go in a taxi. This is best planned before surgery but if you find you have a problem getting home tell the nurses in the surgery unit. Most patients are able to drive within a week or two.
